Crevasse takes cues from the cracking of stones and rocks when water enters, freezes and expands within them. Void spaces around apertures collect snow, which eventually melt and change state, altering the effect of the installation. From within the dome one can clearly see the structure and look through controlled views facilitated by the apertures depending on their transparent or opaque material qualities. Users can ascend the lifeguard station to view out and above the dome through a void at the top. CREVASSE intends to draw users into the installation to view out to a changing landscape from within a changing enclosure.
